Sarah Payne scored 16 of her team-high 20 points in the third quarter as Trinity (Whitesville) held off Warren Central at home 60-36. Preslee Meserve was second on the team in scoring with 16 points, while Ella Morris finished with seven points.
“Our defensive rotations were much better tonight,” Trinity head coach Emily Hernandez said. “Preslee Meserve got several steals that led into layups early to get us started. We did a better job with our shot selection and working for open shots. Sarah Payne did a great job of making cuts to the basket and her teammates found her. We all did a better job of making the extra pass tonight to find the open person. We also minimized our turnovers, so we had more opportunities to score.”
Next up for the Lady Raiders, they travel to Logan County to take on East Robertson (Cross Plains), TN, later tonight.
