Last night in a tri-meet against Bowling Green and Boonville, Davies County finished second. On the relay side, the girls finished first in the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle thanks to Alaina Mason, Ryleigh Bevil, Ellie Girten, and Grace Bullock. The boys relay team of Victor Neves, Caleb Sosh, Caden Embry, and Max Sterett finished first in the 200 Medley.

“Overall, our girl’s side underperformed what they were capable of and still won two of the three relays. I felt good about that,” Daviess County head coach Megan Bevil said. “My boys had a lot of big wins. Their Medley Relay placed first last night and while their 200 Free Relay did not, they got a new best time as a group and each person is continuing to cut time in that. Senior captain, Victor Neves, had a huge night setting PRs in his 50-back split, his 100 backstroke, and his 100 Fly. Victor’s success is critical to the success of our Medley Relay, so it was exciting for him personally and the entire team.”

In the individuals, Bevil (200 IM, 100 Fly), Girten (100 Free), and Mason (100 Back) all finished first on the girls’ side, while Sosh (100 Breast) and Shiloh Sumner (Diving) finished first for the boys.

“Our team lost out on quite a few points from false starts, but we have something to work on and it’s an easily fixed thing,” Bevil said. “It feels good to know there are points out there that we should pick up when we see these teams in the future.”
