Hancock County left home with an impressive win over Cloverport while McLean County fell short on the road.
Hancock County 58, Cloverport 21
It was a balanced attack for Hancock County as 10 different players scored in their 58-21 win over Cloverport. Ansley House led the way with 16 points and six rebounds. Higdon finished with six points and a team-high 12 rebounds, while Jordyn Waltrip recorded 11 points and four assists. Jaylee Johnson added four points and eight rebounds.
Ohio County 49, McLean County 34
It was an off-shooting night for the Lady Cougars, dropping a tough one on the road to Ohio County 49-34. Ava Lannum scored seven of her team-high 10 points in the first half, while Katie McCoy finished with nine points. Sarah Larkin (8), Danielle Reynolds (4), and Kenadi Level (3) rounded out the team’s scoring.
“We let Ohio end the first quarter with a big run where we were trying to match shot fo shot We saw some areas of improvement in our half-court offense late in the second half and we will have to build off of that to get ready for Grayson County and Tell City this weekend.”
