Joan Crawford Ray, 89, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 8, 1935 in Owensboro to the late Fred and Ella Mae Crawford. Joan formerly worked for General Electric and was a member of Maceo Baptist Church. She loved square dancing, working in her yard, and traveling to Myrtle Beach and Florida with her late husband, Roy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Roy Lee Ray; and sisters, Ann Whitaker, Lillie Clark, and Pearl Evans.
She is survived by two daughters, Jenny (Gary) Bivins and Sabrina (Gary) West; three grandchildren, Christina (Scott) Lowe, Clint (Jenni) Bivins, and Casey (Alex) Bivins; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Brenda Fay and Tommy Early for the special things you did for her.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
