
Margaret Matlock Gleason, commonly referred to as Peggy and Kiki, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Born on February 28, 1931 to Robert Cutter Matlock and Margaret Faulkner Matlock in Plainfield, New Jersey. She graduated from Owensboro High School in 1949. She attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio and University of Kentucky and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. She met her husband, Robert Spaulding Gleason Sr. at a Sigma Nu party at the University of Kentucky. They married on January 31, 1953. He was Sigma Nu, her brother was Sigma Nu and her father was a charter member of Sigma Nu Cornell University. She was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church, member of the Junior League of Owensboro, and a member of the Owensboro Doll Club.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and son, Thomas Edward Gleason, her legacy.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Robert Spaulding Gleason Sr.; son, Robert Spaulding Gleason, Jr.; two grandchildren, Rob Gleason (Amanda) of Elizabethtown and John Gleason (Ashley) of Owensboro; two great-grandchildren, Ella Gleason and Ian Gleason; brother, Robert Cutter Matlock III (Carol) of Denver, Colorado; and a sister, Elisabeth Matlock Dixon (Stu) of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Owensboro. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 12 to 2 p.m. on Monday at the church.
