Charles Hines

Charles Hines, age 99 years and 8 months, of Owensboro, transitioned from this life to his Heavenly home on Saturday, November 30th at Signature HealthCARE at Hillcrest. We are eternally grateful that during his stay at Signature HealthCARE, Chaplain Ron Phillips witnessed his verbal assurance of salvation and led him in a prayer of rededication.

He was born on March 24,1925 to the late Moses Hines and Lela Jones. Charles was affiliated with the former Second Thessalonian Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio.

He spent most of his adult life in Dayton, Ohio where he retired from General Motors and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He moved back to Kentucky under the loving care of his niece, Alma Randolph Crump, who fulfilled the wishes and prayers of her mother and his sister Louise Randolph.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Randolph and brother, Ernest McHenry.

Charles is survived by a special niece, Alma (Bruce) Crump; nephews, Bishop Robert (Marilyn) Randolph, Thomas Randolph and David Randolph; great-niece, Kaileesha (Nick) Hayes; great-nephews, Quentin Randolph, Preston (Luann) Randolph and Eli Randolph; great-great-niece, Zakyra Tiller; great-great-nephews, Dezmond Randolph, Marcus Randolph, Ari Hayes and Kingston Randolph; and a host of cousins and friends.

Celebration of Life Service for Charles Hines will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 8th at McFarland Funeral Home, 1001 W 5th St, Owensboro, KY with David Randolph officiating and Bishop Robert Randolph, Pastor of UpChurch in Owensboro, as Eulogist. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. The burial will take place in Memorial Gardens cemetery of Hartford, KY at a later date.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. In addition, a very special thank you to Amanda Gray and Crystal Stevens for the special care provided to him at Signature HealthCARE at Hillcrest.
