Dennis Earl DeHart, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, at his home. He was born February 18, 1944, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to James Thomas and Bernadine Schrecker DeHart.
Dennis was a long-time member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and served several years in the United States National Guard. He graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School and then from Henderson Barber College and worked for 54 years in his own shop.
He was a fan of U.K. Basketball and enjoyed going out to eat, watching T.V., especially NASCAR, old-time Rock & Roll, and his nightly Bible study with Connie. Dennis loved being in church every Sunday and loved Jesus.
Along with his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by his former wife, Judy Carol DeHart who passed in 2010, and his grandson, Austin.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Connie Sue DeHart; four daughters, Carol (Morgan) Phelps of Bowling Green, Jennifer (David) Dowell of Owensboro, Jodie DeHart, of Owensboro, KY, and Debbie DeHart, of Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at noon on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, with Fr. Brandon Williams officiating. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will resume on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
