James Edward Jarboe

James Edward Jarboe, age 79 of Falls of Rough, KY passed away November 13, 2024, at Norton Hospital. He was born in Constantine, KY on May 27, 1945, son of the late Georgia Lavena and Walter Ernest Jarboe. He was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Air Force. James was a member of Hilltop Christian Fellowship Church where he served as a deacon and trustee. He served in the Methodist Conference, where he was a minister for 17 years. He rejoiced when he could see his members or others come to know Christ and cried tears of joy as well as his shouts of praise. He enjoyed his work with the Fire Departments, Ambulance services and hospitals near his home where he also served as Chaplin.

He and Betty owned and operated St. Clair Motel for 15 years. He took every available opportunity to witness and tell others how he loved the Lord. He drove a school bus for 17 years while owning the motel.

James graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College, then went on to seminary at Asbury College.

He loved his family and was in heaven on earth on the hill where he and Betty lived when his family came home to visit. He was loved and respected by his wife, children, grandchildren and friends.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wives, Gail and Betty, daughter Delena, grandchildren, Ashley and John John and brother John.

He is survived by his sons Aaron Jarboe (Shannon) of Falls of Rough, KY and Ben Jarboe (Amy) of Bowling Green, KY

5 grandchildren: Andrew, Adam, Rebekah, Elizabeth and Wes

4 great grandchildren: Tiara, Keelee, Hunter and Noah

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 12 PM. Burial with military honors will be in the Howe Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, 4-7 PM and Saturday, 10 AM – 12 PM. All times are central.
