• Humphrey, Belcher lead Red Devils to victory
• Wiman perfect at plate, Aces win in extras

Owensboro 7, Muhlenberg County 2

Isaac Humphrey was solid on the mound and Nick Belcher was strong at the plate, and Owensboro (16-8) won their fifth game in a row with a home victory over the Mustangs (7-16).

Belcher went 2-for-2 with a triple but also reached base with a walk and hit by pitch, and he scored twice. Humphrey gave up six hits but limited the damage to two runs while striking out six and giving up a single walk.

Owensboro fell behind early before tying the game when a sacrifice fly by Collier Higgs allowed Belcher to score in the third inning. Collier then drove in three runners with a double during a six-run fourth frame, and the Red Devils were in control the rest of the way.

Higgs finished with four RBIs and scored once. Also hitting doubles were Tucker Hagan, Trace Grenier and Humphrey.

Owensboro Catholic 7, Union County 6 (9 innings)
Andrew Wiman went 5-for-5 and the Aces (16-11) snapped a five-game losing skid with a nine-inning road victory over the Braves (15-12).

The winning run came in the top of the ninth when a single by Finley Munsey drove in Luke Scales. Sam McFarland then struck out two and worked around a pair of walks in the bottom of the frame to close out the win in an inning of work on the mound.

Wiman, who drove in two runs, started at pitcher for Catholic but gave up four runs on four hits with six walks in 3.2 innings. Braden Mundy scored twice for the Aces and had a double.

Catholic used four runs in the second inning to take a lead but the Braves worked their way back on top. Trailing 6-4 after five, the Aces used a run each in the sixth and seventh to tie the game and force extra innings.
