
Gloria Dale Downs 75, of Livermore, Kentucky passed away Monday, November 4, 2024 at her home in Livermore. Gloria Dale Downs was born September 4, 1949 in the close-knit community of Livermore, Kentucky to the late Louis Estill and Mildred Mauren Cobb Downs and was lovingly known as ‘Glordale’ to both her family and friends. Gloria was a cherished soul known for her sharp wit and love for games. Her life was filled with the warmth of a loving family and the rich tapestry of rural life.
Gloria’s professional life was characterized by her strong leadership and commitment to service. She retired as a manager from Valero in Livermore, having previously honed her skills at Paxton-Ball of Hartford. Her colleagues will remember her as someone who led by example, always ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Gloria was an enthusiastic member of her community, where she was baptized by the Livermore General Baptist Church. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as playing Scrabble, immersing herself in a good book, playing various card games, or engaging in a spirited game of poker with friends. Gloria’s love for casino trips and the thrill of the slot machines was well-known among her circle, and it was a pastime that brought her great excitement and laughter.
Above all, Gloria will be remembered for her infectious smile, her generous heart, and her ability to light up a room. She was a beacon of love and kindness, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter, her stories, and her unwavering support for her loved ones have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Downs and James Downs; and by her sister, Betty Morris.
Gloria is survived by her life-partner, Jeanette Stogner; two daughters, Sandy Nall Henrickson (Brad) of Tell City and Lisa Austin (Keith) of Calhoun; four grandchildren, Todd Henrickson (Laura), Eric Henrickson (Kelsey), Collin Austin, and Martina Austin; 5 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Downs (Patty) of Morganfield.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Livermore. Friends may visit with Gloria’s family from 11:30 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Musters in Livermore.
