Linda Elaine Kizer, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 79, surrounded by her loved ones. Her journey through life began on December 1, 1944, marked by an unwavering commitment to her family, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was truly an angel on earth and has now gained her heavenly wings alongside her beloved husband, Nelson Kizer, who surely welcomed her with a request for a cup of coffee as soon as she joined him.
Linda was known for her unconditional love for everyone she encountered. She genuinely cared about how others were doing. Fiercely devoted to her family, she took immense pride in her grandchildren, who were her whole world—just as she was theirs.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Denise, and her parents, Toby and Nora Williams, as well as her in-laws, Gordon and Priscilla Kizer.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two children, Jeanine Martin (husband David) and Aaron Kizer (wife Kitty), both of Owensboro. She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren, Shannon Brown (husband Jonathan), Airen Kizer, and Kaden Kizer, all of Owensboro, as well as her two adored great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Victoria Brown.
Linda is survived by her three brothers: Caroll Williams (wife Linda), Terry Williams (wife Billie), and Melvin Williams (wife Jean), all of Owensboro; brother-in-law Van Kizer (wife Jennifer) of Henderson; sister-in-law Brenda Winstead of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Trisha, Sally, Danielle, Kerrie, Jennifer, Denise, and Lisa, as well as Terry, Travis, Steven, Melvin, Brad, Greg, Craig, and Ryan. She is also remembered fondly by many great-nieces and nephews, who often referred to her as “Big” or “Aunt Sissy.”
Friends and family are invited to visitation, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory, with burial to follow at Glenville Baptist Church Cemetery.
