Curtis Lee Howard, age 69 of Lewisport, KY passed away November 1, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Grayson County on October 14, 1955, son of the late Zelba and Pauline Lewis Howard.
Curtis was truly one of the best. He was dependable, hardworking, and tough. He was also one of the most kind, loving and compassionate people you could ever meet. He was the first in line when a friend or family member needed a helping hand and always answered a thank you with a smile and a simple “you don’t owe me any thanks”. He enjoyed all things sports, but was especially fond of his Kentucky Wildcats. Curtis could talk Kentucky basketball for hours and often did! He loved his wife and soul mate, Linda, deeply. They met as teenagers, fell in love and started a life together that spanned over 49 years. To his children, he wasn’t just Dad. He was a friend, a comforter, a teacher and a source of strength and encouragement. Curtis loved the life he and Linda shared and was so proud of each of his children. He will be missed and fondly remembered by those of us who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

3 children: Eric Howard (Christy) of Custer, KY; Bridgett Howard of Lewisport, KY and Sharla Zellers (John) of Lamar, IN
9 grandchildren: Elijah Howard, Alex Howard (Elizabeth), Morganne Howard, Austin Howard, Emma Howard, Brayden Howard, Ethan Howard, Landon Zellers and Korbin Zellers
2 great grandchildren: Scarlett Howard and Brookelynn Rose Howard and great grandson Jackson Farris who is due January 2025.
2 sisters: Brenda Kasey (Delbert) of Big Spring, KY and Sue Lucas of Hudson, KY
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 10 AM with burial in the Madrid Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, 3 – 8 PM and Tuesday after 8 AM.
