Charles Leslie Vickers, 62, of Owensboro passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Charlie was born on April 20, 1962 in Owensboro to the late J. W. Vickers and Nellie Cheshire Vickers. He previously worked for Circle C Contracting and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and looking for Bigfoot. Charlie was very loved and was appreciated not just for his goofy, wild, spontaneous, and hard-working personality but also for always being the world’s best Pappy!
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Jonell Daugherty; brother, Michael Vickers; and a son, Dale Yonts.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Debra Vickers; five children, Allen Vickers (Ashley), Autumn Barnett, Kevin Yonts, Amanda White, and Chris Vickers; fourteen grandkids; two great-grandkids; a brother, Richard Vickers (Lori); a sister, Nora Sprinkle; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 6:00pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at James H Davis Funeral Home & Crematory.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at the funeral home.
