Habitat for Humanity Owensboro-Daviess County will host their annual Fall Warehouse Sale this Saturday. Items available include building materials, appliances, replacement windows, interior/exterior doors, furniture, and more.
The event will take place at Habitat’s headquarters at 2930 West 4th Street starting at 8 a.m. All proceeds will go to Habitat’s construction materials fund for houses being built.
“These warehouse sales are such an important economic driver to Habitat’s mission in this community,” said Summer Aldridge, Habitat Fundraising Committee member. “Habitat hosts warehouse sales three to four times a year as fundraisers for the organization. The community (individuals and businesses) donate gently used or overstock items, such as furniture, appliances, or home remodeling materials, and the items we cannot use in our projects are used in the fundraiser.”
Everything is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Habitat asks for donations for the items and patrons will be checked out by applicants in Habitat’s Homeownership Program.
“There are a couple of things I really like about these warehouse sales,” said Charlie Kamuf II, Habitat Board Vice Chair. “First, 100% of all the received donations go straight to the Build Fund with no administrative costs taken. It is very important to our organization that we are always an excellent steward of donated funds. Second, I love the fact that our applicants are actively involved in everything we do, from helping build on the worksite to fundraising for their own houses. These amazing people put in the work and truly deserve the house that is built for them in the end.”
The event is a rain or shine as everything is under roof. The available items, range from building materials, appliances, replacement windows, interior / exterior doors, furniture, and many more.
