Competing against some of the top teams from Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and Tennesee, the Apollo Eagles came in 9th at the Louisville Trinity Invitational. Emmit Brock led the way for Apollo, finishing third and running a 15:53.99. Noah Gray (13th, 16:46.13), Justin Gray (72nd, 18:15.74), Keaton Boling (108th, 18:54.01), and William Guadarrama (109th, 18:55.44) rounded out the teams top five times.
“It was a good race and gave some of the younger guys a chance to gain some important experience,” Apollo boys head coach Daniel Southard said. “We are looking forward to the Nike Twighlight race in two weeks and continuing to build confidence.”
The Red Devils were also in attendance. They finished 19th and saw three of their top five runners post personal bests: Juan Quintana (104th, 18:51), Isrell Roberts (122nd, 19:08), and Kameryis Rodriquez Cline (139th, 19:19). Ace Skimehorn (137th, 19:18) and Dylan Fulkerson (141st, 19:22) rounded out the teams top five times.
“We had a solid day,” Owensboro head coach Griffin Kelley said. “We continue to get better each time we race. Our team “pack” is one of our biggest strengths.”
On the girls side, the E-Gals Ava Falloway (64th, 22:42.49) had the team’s top time and was followed by Kirii Mattingly (172nd, 28:22.81), Karissa Ralph (180th, 29:40.91), Abbie Carmon (181st, 30:00.01), and Addison Ewing (182nd, 30:05.36).
