A Louisville man is facing drug trafficking charges after a search warrant led to the discovery of meth, pills, and more evidence on Wednesday, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a release, at approximately 2 p.m. Wednesday, detectives with the DCSO Special Investigations Unit (SIU) were in the 2200 block of Carter Road when they observed Derrick Damell Davis, whom they knew had three active probation violation arrest warrants.
“Detectives approached Davis, who was walking a dog at the time, identified themselves as DCSO, and Davis began to flee on foot. Davis entered a nearby apartment where he was quickly taken into custody by the SIU detectives. In plain view in the apartment were methamphetamine, digital scales, and plastic baggies used to package narcotics,” the release says. “Detectives secured a search warrant for the residence and after conducting a detailed search, located a large bag of methamphetamine that was thrown into the bathtub near where Davis had been arrested. Also located and seized were hydrocodone pills and U.S. currency.”
