Cassie Sharlene McDaniel, 84, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at her home. She was born on March 3, 1940 in Daviess County to the late Hubert and Virgina Howard. She was a retired nurse. Cassie was a 1961 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and graduated from St. Mary School of Nursing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Dunkel; son, Phillip McDaniel; and a sister, Sharon Hill.
Survivors include her husband, William Allen McDaniel, Master Sergeant Retired; son, Matthew McDaniel (Rachel); brother, Doug Howard; grandchildren, Peter Herrmann (Sarah), Lisa Birge (Corey), Alexa Blackman (Zach), Sandy Jenkins (Matt), Phillip McDaniel (Rachel), Christopher McDaniel, and Matthew McDaniel Jr.; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be noon on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Services will be live-streamed at www.davisfuneralhome.com. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
