A 29-year-old Owensboro man has been charged with multiple counts related to possession of child porn, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to a release, at approximately 6 a.m. on September 12, patrol officers, emergency response team members, and detectives from Owensboro Police Department executed a search warrant in the 3700 block of Benttree Drive.
According to OPD, the search warrant was the result of an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force investigation that was reported by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) regarding child sexual abuse material.
Authorities said the investigation led to the identification of Daniel Ruplinger as the suspect in this case.
With the assistance of the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, OPD detectives arrested and charged Ruplinger with:
- 4 counts of Distribution of Matter Portraying Sex Performance by a Minor under 12
- 1 count of Distribution of Matter Portraying Sex Performance by a Minor over 12
- 3 counts of Possessing Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a minor under 12
- 1 count of Possessing Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a minor over 12.
“We are committed to protecting the community and especially our most vulnerable by having specially trained detectives who serve on the ICAC task force and target individuals who prey on children,” OPD said in a release.
