Owensboro used a pair of second-half goals to tie Trigg County in a girls’ soccer match Wednesday evening.
Lily-Page Early and Lily Nieman scored in the 49th and 72nd minutes. Ella Hall assisted on both goals while goalie Hayley Sikes recorded seven saves.
“We started the game a bit slow and fell behind, but played a much better second half,” Owensboro head coach Sarah Poole said. “We were able to possess from the defense forward in the second half, putting together productive plays and outperforming Trigg. We lost to this team 6-0 last season, so we continue to see improvement this year.”
