In the blistering heat, the Owensboro Lady Devils outlasted Muhlenberg County by five strokes, 217 to 222, in a Monday afternoon girls’ golf match.
Ryann Kasey and Olive Harrison led the way for Owensboro, finishing third and fourth in individual play with a 48 and 49, respectively. Hampton Gaddis and Ellison Storm rounded out Owensboro’s team, both shooting a 60.
“I am proud of the effort battling both the back nine and the heat at Central City Country Club,” Owensboro head coach Bryan Kasey said. “The team is continuing to improve.”
