The defenses proved too much to crack during regulation and overtime, but the Owensboro Lady Devils were able to edge past Apollo in a shootout for a 9th District win Tuesday night.

The Lady Devils knocked in a pair of conversions to go up 2-0 in the shootout before the E-Gals finally found the net on the third set of kicks, but neither time converted again.

OHS moves to 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in 9th District action. They now turn attention to a road game at 3rd Region opponent Breckinridge County (0-3) on Thursday.

It was the first loss of the early season for the E-Gals, who similarly now sit at 2-1 (1-1 9th District). Apollo will now prep for a road match at 3rd Region foe Ohio County (1-2) on Thursday.
