Professional Bull Riding is returning to the Owensboro Sportscenter tonight with the theme Bulls and Ghouls. There will also be a concert headlined by Drew Baldridge, with Sons of Habit as the opening Act.
The event kicks off at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6. Tickets start at $20 each and are available here.
Promoter Ben Prilwetz said the arena was filled with excitement and energy for the inaugural appearance in Owensboro last year, and they hope to build on a successful first year.
“The crowd shook the place. By the time a bull rider would get halfway through a ride, they had that place shaken. There was a ton of excitement,” he said previously.
With the Sportscenter’s layout, Prilwetz said there is no bad seat in the building. In addition, he said the city was a welcoming environment for their riders and promoted the team overall. He noted that even when the building had sold out, they still opened the doors to help people enjoy in the standing room to avoid the storm.
This year’s concert headliner is country artist Drew Baldridge. The Nashville artist is most known for his song “She’s Somebody’s Daughter,” re-released in 2023 as a reimagined version that was Baldridge’s first top 40 hit on the Billboard Country Airplay charts. Sons of Habit is a relatively new band based out of Owensboro.
Prilwetz said that while the bull riding experience is the main event, he always wants to highlight the major role Rally Point Events plays in the event.
Rally Point Events, most known locally for donating shoes to Cravens and Foust elementary schools, is also raising funds for their programming this year.
“Their part of the partnership is working on the venues, the concerts, and they do the heartwarming stuff and give it back to the communities,” Prilwetz said.
