Puzzle Pieces is gearing up to host the RISE Summit, aimed at providing valuable resources and support to families and caregivers of those with special needs. The event will feature Kate Swenson, author of Forever Boy, as the keynote speaker.

The summit will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center on October 25-26.

The event includes nine breakout sessions covering topics such as assistive technology, caregiver trauma, and life planning, along with a resource fair showcasing products and services for individuals with disabilities.

Swenson, who also founded the blog Finding Cooper’s Voice, will share her personal experiences as a mother of a child with autism. Her keynote address will focus on resilience and advocacy, encouraging families to find strength in their unique journeys.

Specialized childcare services will be available during the sessions, allowing caregivers to engage with the content thoroughly. The event is a significant fundraising effort for Puzzle Pieces, with all proceeds supporting the organization’s programs, which include day programs, employment opportunities, and customized care for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Registration for the RISE Summit is open, with early bird pricing available until September 1. The event is expected to draw families from across the region united in their commitment to supporting loved ones with special needs.
