Owensboro 7, Meade Co. 0
Jackson Sigler scored a hat trick to fuel Owensboro to a 7-0 victory over Meade County in their season opener. Ryan Sovar scored two unassisted goals, while Denis Juma and Peter Mbayu rounded out the team’s scoring. Juma led the team with three assists, while Sovar and Junior Rugama each had one.
“Offensively, I thought we attacked the goal very well,” head coach Ryan Haley said. “We were able to spread them out and work outside to inside, get in behind, and cut inside with success. Defensively, we didn’t allow much after we settled in, but in the first three minutes, Meade Co. had three shots on one attack. I think that woke us up and got us to play to our ability.”
