Officers responded to an injury accident Thursday afternoon involving a moped and passenger car at the intersection of New Hartford Road and Burlew Boulevard, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
As of approximately 8 p.m., the roadway was back open. The investigation is ongoing
According to OPD, the preliminary investigation indicates that a moped was struck by a passenger car. The moped operator was treated on scene by AMR and Owensboro Fire Department before being taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to OPD.
The operator of the passenger car is uninjured and cooperating with the investigation, officials said.
