Bourbon drinkers and purse collectors are coming together to fundraise for the RiverPark Center at the end of the month with their new event, Bourbon and Bags for Broadway.
The doors will open on August 29 at 5 p.m. to the auction and tastings throughout the hall, and the live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Director of Development Jennifer Richardson said that the bags are paired with bottles of bourbon, making it a complete package for everyone to enjoy.
“As if that weren’t enough, some of these bottles will have the coveted autographs of our beloved master distillers and celebrity performers, adding an extra touch of exclusivity and glamour,” Richardson said.
Some items are already listed and can begin auction today on their website. These include a Kate Spade Tote, an autographed Colonel Taylor’s Bourbon Bundle bottle, a Patricia Nash purse, and tickets and certificates to local businesses.
In addition to the purses in the auction, they will raffle off a Louis Vuitton Graceful MM Hobo purse, priced at over $1,800 on the LV website. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $25 for 1.
“Our fundraising committee has curated a wonderful selection of bourbon, handbags, accessories, and experiences that will be offered in silent and live auctions. Come be a part of this experience and take advantage of the opportunity to enhance your handbag and bourbon collection while providing a Broadway experience for children in our community,” Committee and Board Member Beth Ryan said.
Richardson said that all profits from the event will go toward supporting all of the Broadway performances and their Arts Teach Kids program, providing accessibility to students throughout the area.
The event is 21+, and tickets are on sale now. They start at $75 for one, a table of 8 for $750, and a VIP table of 8 for $1,000.
