Owensboro Catholic 19, Webster County 7 (5 innings)
Luke Scales had four hits including a homer and Owensboro Catholic (11-6) used a 12-run third inning to blow by Webster County (4-12) in five innings on the road. It’s the fifth win in a row for the Aces, who finished with 15 hits and five doubles.
Scales hit the two-run long ball in the first inning for an early Catholic lead, and they added two more in the second before the Trojans got on the board. Webster County closed the gap to 16-7 before the Aces scored three more to end the game early.
Scales (4-for-5, 3 runs, 5 RBIs, double) and Andrew Wiman (4-for-5, run, 2 RBIs, double) had the only multi-hit days. Everett Munsey (3 runs, 3 RBIs) and Sam McFarland (5 RBIs, double) also had big days on offense.
Munsey pitched three innings and got the win, giving up five runs on six hits and striking out five.

Apollo (8-8) lost a pair of games by one run each in a doubleheader played at Henry Clay. In both contests, the opponent plated all their runs in a single inning early on and the Eagles’ comeback bids came up just short.
Against Paul Laurence Dunbar (11-3), Apollo fell behind 5-0 in the first inning. The Eagles scored two runs each in the third and seventh and outhit the Bulldogs 10-5. Max Holder had a pair of hits and two RBIs. Evan Hodskins, Landon Hamilton and Jakob Helms all had doubles. Harrison Bowman took the loss on the mound.
Against Henry Clay, Apollo scored in the opening frame but the Blue Devils went in front with four runs in the third. The Eagles scored one each in the final two innings but weren’t able to tie the game. Holder had another pair of hits and struck out four in two innings on the mound. Starting pitcher Nick Judd went four innings in the loss and gave up six hits.

Bowling Green Purples 6, Daviess County 3
After trailing 2-0 through three innings, Daviess County (5-8) took a brief lead by scoring all three of their runs in the top of the fourth. Bowling Green (11-6), who beat Owensboro earlier in the day, answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning and added another pair in the fifth.
Cole Troutman, Garrett Small and Chandler Froelich all singled to start the rally in the fourth inning for the Panthers. Small had the only two-hit day for Daviess County.
Austin Curtis went 4.0 innings on the mound in the loss, allowing four runs on five hits.

Bowling Green 7, Owensboro 2
In a rematch of a game they won in the last half-inning early this year, Owensboro (8-6) wasn’t able to come back this time around in a road loss to Bowling Green (11-6).
The Purples, who later beat Daviess County on Saturday, got four unearned runs in the first inning and never trailed. The Red Devils trimmed the deficit in half with a run each in the fourth and fifth before Bowling Green extended the lead again.
Isaac Humphrey led the Owensboro offense with two hits, a double and a run scored. Ethan Gibson took the loss, giving up four unearned runs on four hits and striking out three through three innings.
