A typical sunflower takes 70 to 100 days after being planted to go into full bloom, but depending on the type, it could bloom sooner or later. Nonetheless, Trunnell plans to have over a million sunflowers in full bloom for their annual Dinner in the Blooms Sunflower Experience this September.
The Sunflower Experience will have over 65 varieties of sunflowers and 30+ zinnias in the garden. In addition to the dinner, guests can purchase a bucket and a mason jar of blooms.
Tickets have already gone on sale for the two weekends in their garden. They start at $89, and there is a limited VIP deal as well.
They will hold two dinners, on September 7 and 14, both of which are weather-permitting dates. Organizers say that if the day gets rained out, there will be no refunds.
The dinner is a 21+ farm-to-table dinner. They will also provide live entertainment, bonfires, attractions and more.
Entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. as guests arrive, and the dinner will continue until 8 p.m.
Though Trunnell’s expects over a million blooms, they said the bloom schedule is just as fluid. If there is a crop failure, tickets may be used to attend The Farm Experience any day.
