Henry Head, 86, of Owensboro passed away on August 3, 2024, at Wellington Parc. He was born on May 22, 1938, to the late George and Mary Ruth Isbill Head. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church.
He worked at Canteen Company of America for 6 years, General Electric for 11 years, and retired in 1996 from Swedish Match after 21 years, where he also held the position as president of the bakery, confectionery, and tobacco workers International Union Local 196T for 14 years. He enjoyed being a voice for his fellow coworkers, it was very rewarding. He also enjoyed farming, growing flowers, fishing, UK Basketball, Braves baseball, family, and friends. However, his true enjoyment came from spending time with his wife Margaret, and their dog, Buddy.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Mary Aileen; his three sons Tony, Henry Jr., and Randy; and his grandson Dalton.
Henry is survived by his wife Margaret; his two sons Martin “Marty” Head and his wife Andrea of St. Louis, MO, and Michael “Mike” of Owensboro; his brother Don Head and his wife Judy of Atlanta, GA; his daughter-in-law Debbie of Owensboro; his eight grandchildren Tiffany, Tamara, Jessica, Brittani, Kristyn, Jonathon, Lee, and Justin.

Services will be on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
