The public is invited to a Service of Remembrance for infant Miya Rudd, the 8-month-old who was ultimately found deceased in an Ohio County home in June. Donations are also being accepted for Rudd’s siblings.
The service will begin at 6 p.m. on July 25 at Pleasant Valley Community Church, where visitation will begin at 4 p.m.
“Ending the evening with candlelight as a reminder that together, we come as one body in a desire to remain close to God and reflect on Him, and as a community, that Miya’s light still shines,” Rudd’s obituary reads.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of diapers, wipes, toys, clothes, and other essentials for her siblings, who are ages 1 (girl), 2 (boy), and 7 (girl). There will be designated areas at the church during the visitation and memorial service. Outside of those hours, you may leave things with any staff at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and they will coordinate with the family to receive the items.
Rudd was born in Owensboro on October 12, 2023. Read her full obituary here.
At the beginning of June, Kentucky State Police was informed Rudd had not been seen since the end of April. That prompted a welfare check, then later a search for a missing person when the baby could not be found with her parents.
On June 14, KSP confirmed an infant’s remains were found in the home belonging to Rudd’s parents. Four people, including her parents, are facing several charges. The investigation is ongoing.
