The Driver Licensing Regional Office will open from 8-11:30 a.m. on July 13 for walk-ins only.

No appointment is necessary. Applicants need only bring the necessary documents to apply for a REAL ID or standard credential. This enhanced credential will allow for commercial air travel and access to federal facilities that require ID after May 7, 2025.

The walk-in event does not include written and driver testing performed by Kentucky State Police. To schedule an appointment for those services, visit the KSP website.

The Licensing Regional Office processes applications for REAL ID or standard licenses and ID cards. Application for a REAL ID must be done in person, with two proofs of residence, Social Security, and identity at a KYTC regional office.

The Owensboro office is located at 2620 KY 81 at the Daviess County Operations Center. Hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and appointments are typically highly suggested due to limited walk-in space.
