Colt Walker’s modeling career has taken him to places he didn’t see when he came into the industry — most recently staring in country singer Stephen Wilson Jr.’s newest music video, ‘Grief is Only Love’ and nominated for a Country Music Association Award.

Walker left Owensboro shortly after graduating from Owensboro High School, intending to get plugged into the photography world in New York City. However, quickly, he found himself signed to Soul Artist Management.

Through Soul Artist Management, he modeled for several companies, including Tiffany and Co., Bleacher Report/Nike, Vogue, GQ Mexico, and Leonardo Fifth Avenue.

Eventually, he returned home to Owensboro and signed up with Nashville-based agency AMAX Talent and Creative Management.

“This isn’t the path I thought I would be on, but I’m grateful that this is the path I’ve been put on. I’m grateful for how everything turned out,” Walker said.

With this agency, he has become more plugged into acting and modeling.

Walker notes that acting was also a path he didn’t know he would pursue in the modeling world. Though his current agency was previously the home of movie star Channing Tatum, he didn’t see acting in his cards, especially given his lack of theater background.

“But I’m grateful for that, too. It’s given me the experience and confidence I needed to explore other routes within the acting world,” Walker said.

He said he has gotten to work on a music video for Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, Jordan Davis, and Stephen Wilson Jr., among other smaller artists, through AMAX.

In Davis’ video for ‘Next Thing You Know,’ Walker stars as a young man while he and his wife go through life together as Davis sings about how fast time can go. This video would be nominated for the Country Music Association’s Awards Video of the Year. The award would ultimately go to Hardy and Lainey Wilson’s video ‘Wait in the Truck.’

Walker worked under Director Stephen Kinigopoulos, who became a friend and connected him with the next job with Wilson.

Wilson sings about the feeling of losing his grandfather and his dad and how to continue pushing after losing people like that. In the video, Walker’s character races home to his father during his last moments, while Wilson finds comfort in the reality of grief.

Walker will tell you that while he didn’t see this coming in his career, he is thankful for the path it has taken him on.

Walker still loves photography, though, and it will always be his main passion, even while he continues to model. He has used some of the knowledge he learned from working as a model to inspire his photography adventures, starting with his new company, The PicBox.

“When I started modeling, I had to focus on that, but I love photography. I’m going to do photography until the day I die. Photography was my main thing, and it’s always going to be my main thing,” Walker said.
