Maxine B. Anderson, 89, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born October 27, 1934 in Wayne County, KY to the late Sam and Elsie Johnson Buck. Maxine worked as a school bus driver for the Warrick County School Corporation for 16 years and retired in 1990.
She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, and spoiling her grandchildren and was “Mamaw” to everyone.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ron Anderson, whom she married on April 2, 1955; son-in-law, Bill Clark; and siblings, Harold Dee Buck, Lorene Smith, Carlos Buck, Orbry Buck, Amos Buck, Nadine Boone, Dellis Buck, and Ima Jean Buck.
She is survived by a son, Deacon David Anderson (Elizabeth); daughter, Julie Anderson Clark; grandchildren, Christopher Anderson, Richie Ellis, Jessica Boarman, Lee West, Christopher Ellis, and Megan Clark Gleason; 16 great-grandchildren; loving sister, Pauline Boone; brothers, Delmar Buck (Jody) and Bob Buck; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Debbie Reynolds.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Bells Run Cemetery with a reception to follow at Bells Run Church Reception Hall. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
