The Grand Stable in Philpot will play host to several local musicians on Saturday, July 20, for a one-of-a-kind concert. The show will feature Cam Thompson, Kalico, and Mitchell Douglas.

The Grand Stable is located at 7735 KY 144 in Philpot. The concert is reserved for ages 18+, and general admission tickets are available for $15, while a VIP table package is available for $250.

Amy Hildenbrandt owns the Grand Stable and saw Thompson perform one evening in town. She immediately contacted his family and expressed interest in hosting one of his shows at their venue.

“The second I heard that, I wanted to get the ball rolling,” Thompson said. “I’ve heard a lot of great things about the venue, and after seeing it in person, it definitely exceeds expectations.

Thompson grew up in Philpot, and Douglas lives there now, so it’s essentially a homecoming and an opportunity for him to pay homage to his old stomping grounds. He said he is excited to collaborate with the venue to generate one of their largest crowds ever.

“I’m most looking forward to being able to perform in Philpot,” Thompson said. “The community holds a special place in our hearts. We’re hoping to bring in a big crowd of familiar and new faces and really put on a good show for them.”

Hildebrandt said they’ve always promoted weddings at the venue, but the possibilities are endless, and they’re eager to explore other events.

“We love having different events and offering various forms of entertainment,” Hildebrandt said. “I really think Cam is going to be somebody. He’s a great guy, and we’re excited to be a part of his journey.”

Douglas echoed Thompson’s sentiment, stating how many positive reviews he had heard about the venue and how special it was.

“Cam came to me about the event a few months back. He said we needed to set up a huge show for the summer together,” Douglas said. “Playing in front of any crowd is always the best feeling, but I’d be lying if I said this one doesn’t feel a little sweeter. Playing alongside one of my best friends in our hometown at one of the best venues there—can’t beat that.”
