Johnnie Mae Baird Howard, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at her home. Johnie Mae Baird was born September 7, 1932 McLean County, KY to the late John Clifton and Lela Louise Hayden Baird. She was formerly married to Norman Dean Rafferty and later married Estill Clinton “Doodlebug” Howard on June 21, 1972. Johnnie Mae attended Livermore General Baptist Church and retired from the former McLean County General Hospital and enjoyed quilting and her flowers. Above all she was a full-time mother and caregiver.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Estill Clinton “Doodlebug” Howard; son Wayne Rafferty; great granddaughter Evie Hoover; step-son Jeffrey Howard; step daughter Bonnie Dickerson; sister Bonnie Wills; and brothers Wilford Baird and Jerry Baird.
Survivors include two sons; Tony Rafferty (Debbie) of St. Joseph, Mike (Tracy) Rafferty of Beaver Dam; Daughter, Renia Hoover of Calhoun; 8 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren; step son Dale Howard (Ann) of Calhoun; step daughter, Barbie Goodall (Jim) of Owensboro; and a brother, Darrell Baird (Sandy) of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 5, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Johnnie Mae’s family from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday at Musters in Calhoun.
