
Dixie Marlene LeCates, 92, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at The Heartford House, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born on June 6, 1932 in Hatfield, IN to the late Dean Ford Hocker and Georgia Lebold Hocker. Dixie worked for over 20 years at Shoney’s Restaurant, where she made many friends and acquaintances.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William LeCates; grandson, Justin Adcock; four sisters; and three brothers.
Survivors include her children, Debra Hardison, Michael LeCates (Karin), Tamara LeCates, and Steven LeCates (Robin); four grandchildren, Andrew, Julia, Robin, and Jarron; and four great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Brayden, Gemma, and Paisley.
Family and friends will gather at Rosehill Cemetery Chapel at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 to visit and say goodbye.
