BOONEVILLE, IN – Carol “Nanny” Ann Mayes, 71, of Booneville, IN, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, reunited in Heaven with her family on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Ms. Carol was born October 17, 1952 in Muhlenberg County. Ms. Carol loved gardening, sewing, and a fresh pot of morning coffee. Besides her family, her first love was reading her bible and sharing God with others. She taught Sunday School, led church choir, and sang at multiple revivals for several years. She blessed many with her gift of cake decorating, southern cooking, and making curtains. Above all, Nanny had a servant’s heart and would give you anything she had. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Mayes; father, Carl Mayes; brothers, Michael Mayes, and Jerry Mayes; niece, Sheila English; and great-nieces, Bethany Daugherty, and Toni Echols.
She is survived by her daughters, Misty (Rick) Licky, and Tiffany Bolton; grandchildren, Jericho (Paige Pagano) Jameson, Israel Gordon, and Corey (Stephanie) Lickey; great-grandchildren, Jace Pagano, Eli Pagano, Jackson Lickey, River Jameson, Evelyn Pagano, and Hazel Jameson; sisters, Brenda Shoptaw, Sandra (Ralph) English, and Janet (Mike) Henley; brothers, Darrell (Martha) Mayes, Jimmy Mayes, and James (Rosemary) Mayes; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 1PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Phillip Mayes officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10AM -1PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
