POWDERLY, KY., Joyce Bernice Wiseman, 81, of Powderly passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville surrounded by her children. She was born in Muhlenberg County on April 10, 1943 the daughter of Edward Calvin Buchanan and Mary Elsie Drake Buchanan. She was a housewife and homemaker, and she loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 38 years Charles Alexander Wiseman, Jr., 2 brothers Ernest and Franklin Buchanan.
She is survived by 5 children Charles (Tammy) Wiseman of Central City, Rhonda Kay (Rocky) Laster of Greenville, Mary (Glenn Greenfield) Dwyer of Powderly, Kevin (Tammy) Wiseman of Elkton, and Denise (Wayne) Coleman of Boonville, IN., 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Donald (Shirley) Buchanan of Crawfordville, FL and Kenny (Mary) Buchanan of Greenville, a sister-in-law Judy Buchanan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Heltsley Cemetery in Clifty, KY with Rev. Gary Meredith officiating. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of Gideon Bibles be made. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
