HARTFORD-Shirley I. Whittaker, 82, of Hartford died Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Shirley was born in McHenry, Kentucky to the late William R. “Bill” and Effie Mae Evans. Shirley was a member of Barnetts Creek Baptist Church. She worked at GE and Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe Whittaker in March of this year and a grandson, Rusty Whittaker.
Survivors include a son, Jeff (Alicia) Whittaker; 2 daughters, Angie (Kurt) Stumpf and Sherry (Robbie) Magan; 7 grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah) Miles, Nina Belcher, Whitney (Aaron) Maddox, Janna (Jon) Boyd, Jesika Whittaker, Adam (Johnna) Magan, Andrew (Arin) Magan; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a brother, Bruce (Dana) Evans.
Services are at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Barnetts Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Jonathan McCree and Aaron Whittaker officiating. Burial will follow in Barnetts Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM Sunday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. The Family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Barnetts Creek Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
