Connie Lynn Cart, lovingly known as “Granny,” passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 76. Born in Owensboro, KY, Connie was a cherished member of her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and joy.
Connie retired from Swedish Match after a career spanning over 30 years. She always put her family first and never missed a birthday or holiday celebration. Her home was the heart of many joyous gatherings, filled with laughter, delicious food, and memorable moments. Granny’s love for cooking and tending to her beautiful flowers and pool was her passion. She found immense pleasure in the simple joys of life, from playing Rummy with her grandkids and proudly displaying her winning score sheets in the kitchen to enjoying witty banter and playful sarcasm with her loved ones. Connie loved shopping with her girlfriends, going to yard sales, and watching old movies and TV shows. Her infectious sense of humor and unique personality made her truly one of a kind.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tony Cart; daughter-in-law, April Cart; and siblings, Betty “Bobo” Johnson, Bob Ward, Jerry Ward, and William “Dink” Ward.
Connie was the devoted wife of the late Tony Cart, and together they raised two children, Brian Cart (Kathy Hagan) and Eric Cart (Lesley). She was a proud grandmother of six grandchildren; Morgan, Gracie, Blaze, Tatum, Piper, and Miller Cart. She is also survived by a sister, Dianne Howard; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews whom she adored deeply.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Connie’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the many stories, laughter, and love she shared.
Connie Lynn Cart, our beloved Granny, will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
