The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden is hosting an event with music producer and award-winning author Mark Cabaniss this Sunday. Cabaniss will share stories from his book “Confessions of a Shameless Name-Dropper” during the event, which will be held downtown at Bell Bank.
The book recounts Cabaniss’ story of adventuring from North Carolina to Nashville to Broadway and Hollywood through witty and inspirational stories of the connections he built along the way. Cabaniss shares the inside scoop of his encounters with legendary entertainers Bob Barker, Andy Griffith, Shirley Jones, Steve Allen, Dick Clark, Sherwood Schwartz, Rupert Holmes, Doc Severinsen, and more.
WKBG Executive Director Laurna Strehl said hosting Cabaniss, a recipient of the ASCAP Popular Music Award, will offer guests the chance to attend a sophisticated musical event. Daviess County High School Choir Director Jacob Hein will accompany Cabaniss on piano.
“This is a special offering with a view from the penthouse at Bell Bank Offices. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience two unique musical talents,” Strehl said.
The event on June 23 will held from 4-6 p.m. in the penthouse office of the bank building at 234 Frederica Street. It will be catered by Moonlite and feature signature cocktails. Tickets cost $50 and can be purchased by calling the Garden at 270-993-1234 or clicking here.
