Bertha R. Brown, 95, of Owensboro, passed away on May 29, 2024, under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born March 31, 1929, in Maceo, Kentucky to the late David and Anna Aubrey Lancaster.
Bertha retired from Owensboro Canning Company. She enjoyed lottery scratch-offs and playing bingo. She spent her idle time watching The Prices Right, Wheel of Fortune, Gunsmoke, wrestling, and soap operas.
Along with her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Brown; son, Bill Brown; sisters, Nellie Lindsey and Pauline Reed; brother, William Lancaster; and brothers-in-law, Don Miller, George Lindsey, and Russell Reed.
Bertha is survived by her daughter, Faith (JD) Merriman; her sisters, Patsy (Larry) Logsdon and Mildred Miller; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial to follow at Rosehill – Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the funeral home.
