Gary W. Mineer, 66, of Owensboro, passed away on May 28, 2024 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Gary was born on August 6, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Samuel and Scarlett Mineer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Braden Peercy, stepson, Terry Ford, and a sister, Melinda Taylor.
He began his musical career at the age of six and continued to make musical memories thru the years with area bands. Some of his favorite times were spent with the Arnold Chinn Group, Redsky, The Back Stage Band at Goldies Best Little Opryhouse and the Hosscats.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Vicky; four daughters, Tiffany Mineer, Tennille Peercy, Fallon Richards and Kendall Smith; stepson, Mitch Ford; grandchildren, Samantha, Terry Jr., Whitney, Haley, Taylor, Jayson, Kaitlin, Addison, Keyshawn, Collin, Trayson, Logan, Ben, Emma, Maggie, Kelsey, Braden, & Victoria; great-grandchildren, Naomi, Ava, Emerson, and T.J; brother, Richard Mineer; sister, Rita (Tom) Sanford; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from noon until time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
