South Warren 6, Daviess County 1
The Lady Panthers (3-3) watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-1 loss to the Spartans (6-0) at the Kentucky Wesleyan softball field on Monday.
After taking a 3-1 lead in the first inning, South Warren added a solo homer in the second and a two-run dinger in the third. Taylor Enlow earned the complete-game victory in the pitcher’s circle, allowing one run on five hits and striking out four. She had one of the two home runs.
Cameron Hamilton took the loss for Daviess County. She allowed five hits and six runs over 2.1 innings, striking out three and walking one.
The Lady Panthers collected five hits on the day, with Hamilton and Millie Roberts managing two a piece. Savannah Northern had the other with a triple. South Warren tallied seven hits in the game.

BASEBALL RECAPS
Owensboro 3, Ohio County 1
The Red Devils (3-2) won their third game in a row with a home victory over the Eagles (2-5). Owensboro collected seven hits and pushed one run across in the first, fourth and sixth innings.
Tucker Hagan had a pair of hits, while Nick Belcher and Trace Grenier each had an RBI. Belcher also scored once, as did Braxton French and Brennon Williams. French and Williams both doubled.
Corey Gibson picked up the win, giving up five hits over 4.2 innings. French got the save, striking out two in an inning of work.
The lone run for Ohio County came in the fifth inning. Alex Reyes went seven innings in the loss, giving up seven hits and striking out eight.

Union County 10, Owensboro Catholic 4
The Aces (3-3) got into an early 5-0 hole at home, and their comeback bid wasn’t enough as the Braves (4-1) pulled away for a win. Both teams had a home run in the game.
Union County’s Coy Burns started the game with a solo shot. Braden Mundy hit a two-run homer in the third, and the Aces used three runs in the frame to cut the deficit to 7-4. The Braves added a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to create some distance.
Catholic was outhit 12-6, and three errors by each side lead to a pair of unearned runs for each team. Everett Munsey took the loss for the Aces, going 3.0 innings and giving up four hits, five runs and five walks with a single strikeout. Cade Duncan got the win for the Braves.
Andrew Wiman went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, and Sam McFarland scored twice for Catholic.

The Lady Aces swept their match with Grayson County and were hardly challenged. The lone winner for the boys was singles No. 1 Nick Boarman.
Girls singles winners were Emmy Moore, Sarah Englert, Alyssa Gatten, Reagan Fulkerson, Ella Grace Buckman and Grace Brocato. Doubles victors were Ashley Fulkerson/Englert, Gatten/Olivia Hayden and Rachel Traylor/Elizabeth Hayden.
Owensboro 4, Hancock County 0 (boys)
The Owensboro boys’ tennis team rolled to an easy win over Hancock County at the Owensboro Tennis Complex. They got singles wins from AJ Iracane, Clayton Rhoads and Isaac Nalley, while the doubles team of Will Clark/Grayson McFarland also got a victory.
Apollo 5, Butler County 1 (boys)
In a match played at KWC, the Apollo boys’ team was largely dominant. They got singles wins from Stephen Austin, Ryan Ash and Michael Chapman. The doubles teams of Ash/Chapman and Austin/Nathan Payne also were victorious.
