
Leona May Whitworth, age 92 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away May 19, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Hardinsburg on August 1, 1931, daughter of the late Jesse and Minnie Wheatley Clark. She was a member of Goshen Baptist Church. Leona worked at IMS Sewing Factory for many years. Her passion was being a mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed being outdoors, mowing her yard, raising a garden, canning and cooking for her family. She was a wonderful seamstress who made beautiful clothes, quilts and embroidered items. Her family was made of five generations of love and they were very important to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Loyd Whitworth, son Darrell Whitworth, daughter Anna Lee Whitworth, grandson Brian Whitworth, granddaughter Kalyn Whitworth, brother James Earl Clark and sister Anna Belle Butler.
Leona is survived by 7 children: Eugene (Cindy) Whitworth, Jimmie (Lou Ann) Whitworth and Donnie (Paula) Whitworth of Hardinsburg, KY; Doris (Dwight) Raymer and Byron (Connie) Whitworth of Leitchfield, KY; Carolyn (Rusty) McGee of Falls of Rough, KY; Michael (Michelle) Whitworth of Balltown, KY

Funeral services will be held at Goshen Baptist Church in Glen Dean, KY on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 11 AM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, 3-8 PM and Thursday, 8 – 10:15 AM. All times are central.
