Virginia P. Conrad 82, of the Knobbs Community in McLean County, Kentucky passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at her home. Virginia P. Schindler was born July 9, 1941 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Joe Ed and Viola Jones Schindler and was married to Lawrence Morton Conrad on November 22, 1960. Virginia’s life was a testament to the joy of simple pleasures and the strength of familial bonds.

Virginia dedicated much of her life to the nurturing and care of others. She embraced the role of a homemaker with grace and excelled in creating a warm and welcoming environment for all. After many years of service, she retired from the McLean County Senior Services, where she was known for her tireless work ethic and her generous heart.

An active member of her community, Virginia found joy and purpose in her involvement with the Worthington Chapel United Methodist Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she delighted in sharing the promises of Jesus with everyone she met. Her example of living a life anchored in faith will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.

Virginia’s interests were a reflection of her appreciation for the simple things in life. She had a passion for fishing, which allowed her to revel in the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the catch. Her hands were rarely still, as she found pleasure in sewing and working puzzles, activities that spoke to her meticulous nature and her love for bringing pieces together to create a beautiful whole.

Those who knew Virginia would often find her with a smile on her face, a testament to her ability to enjoy life’s journey, regardless of its twists and turns. Her presence was a comfort, and her laughter a melody that enriched the lives of many. Virginia’s ability to find happiness in everyday moments was a gift she freely shared, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Conrad, who died September 8, 1998; by two brothers, Larry Schindler and Ed Schindler; and by a sister, Jean Brooks.

Virginia is survived by a sister, Maggie Lee Jones of Illinois; a special niece and her caregiver, Sarah Kessinger of Sacramento; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9, 2024 at New Cypress Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Virginia’s family from 12:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.
