Marty Rickard 64, of Sacramento, Kentucky passed away May 4, 2024 at his home in Sacramento. Martin Brian Rickard was born July 25, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky to Gerald Ray and Barbara Ann Young Rickard, was married to the former DeAnn Carol Hancock in January of 2012, and was known as ‘Marty’ to both his family and friends. Marty’s life was one of dedication, love, and spirited adventure. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose presence radiated warmth and kindness to all who knew him.

Marty’s professional life was marked by his employment at Kimberly-Clark of Owensboro, where he was respected and admired for his work ethic and camaraderie. His passion for farming was not just a profession but a way of life that he lovingly cultivated over the years. His connection to the land and nature was a testament to his character—steadfast, nurturing, and full of life.

His interests and hobbies painted the picture of a man who cherished the simple joys of life. Marty was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, a hobby that allowed him to experience the freedom of the open road and the companionship of fellow riders. He was also a member of the Beulah General Baptist Church, where his faith and community spirit were deeply rooted.

Marty’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and friends. He was especially close to his son Jonathon, who was not just his child but his best friend. The moments they shared together were filled with laughter, conversation, and an unbreakable bond. Marty’s grandchildren were the light of his life, and he took every opportunity to be involved in their lives, instilling in them the values of love, hard work, and the importance of family.

Marty’s legacy is one of unwavering love, enduring strength, and the joy he brought to every life he touched. He navigated life’s journey with a sense of humor, a compassionate heart, and a spirit that could not be dampened. The memories he created will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those he left behind.

Marty was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Rickard and by a son, Taylor Hayes Rickard.

Marty is survived by his wife, DeAnn Rickard; two sons, Addison Cole Steele of Gloucester, Virginia and Jonathon Taylor Rickard of Sacramento; a step son, Chase Conrad (Natalie) of Central City; a step daughter, Keeley Hardin (Derrick) of Sacramento; 8 grandchildren; his mother, Barbara Rickard of Owensboro; and a brother, Mike Rickard (Suzie) of Sacramento.

Marty’s life will be honored and remembered in a service that reflects the love and light he brought into this world. The family extends an invitation to all who knew and loved Marty to join in commemorating a life that truly made a difference. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Friends may visit with Marty’s family from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.
