
Bertha Alice Powers Ralph, 94, of Utica, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 while surrounded by family. She was born January 26, 1930 in Daviess County to the late Josh and Myrtle Harris Powers. Bertha was a faithful member of Glenville Baptist Church where she was a longtime Preschool Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed arranging flowers from her garden for the church sanctuary. Bertha also sang in the choir and visited the homebound.
Bertha was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother and an excellent homemaker. She loved to cook meals and host holiday celebrations for her family in her home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Ralph Jr.; son, Mark Ralph; and siblings, Ozetta Huff, Marjorie Fenwick, Hazel Powers, Nancy Caplin, Omegene Powell, Jane Byrne, Evelyn Marquis, Betty McGrew, James Powers, Harry Powers, Josh Thomas Powers, Walter Powers, and Jerry Powers.
Survivors include sons, Barry Ralph and his wife, Theresa, of Owensboro and Tod Ralph and his wife, Cindy, of Smiths Grove; one daughter, Darlene Roberts and her husband, Tim, of Readyville, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren, Derek Ralph (Lauren), Kayla Ralph Phillips (Alvin), Brian Ralph, Michael Ralph (Maritza), Amber Ralph Howard (Kyle), Debra Ralph Kessinger (B.J.), Luke Brigance (Shayne Joyce Brigance), Whitney Brigance, Sam Roberts, Taylor Brigance (Brittany), Alexandria Roberts Leverette (Dillon); and 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Glenville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Glenville Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Sunday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory.
