Charles Robert “Bob” Clayton, 90, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation. Bob was born in Daviess County on January 13, 1934 to the late Charles and Mary Calhoun Clayton. He retired from Gipe Automotive as a Sales Manager and served in the Navy Reserves.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Anna Sue Bilbro Clayton, on January, 31, 2022; son, Gerald Clayton; and a sister, Janice Smith.
Survivors include his children, Yvonne Reed (Steve), Bo Clayton, Lisa Leonard, Susan Abel (Rick), Debbie Clayton, Steve Clayton, Becky Gillette (Jeff), and Carol Greer; step-children, Suzie Skaggs, Mark Burns, and Debby House; siblings, Jean Abell, Joann Payne, Joyce Willis, Jimmy Clayton (Gail), Johnny Clayton (Patsy Ann), Judy Grant, and Joe Bill Clayton (Shirley); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and his cats, Smokie and Annie.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory.
