
Charles Larry Scott, 77, of Greenville also known as Tubby passed away peacefully on April 20, 2024 with his family by his side at Lourdes Hospice Care Center in Paducah. Larry was born on October 7, 1946 to Charles and Mary Scott in Madisonville. He graduated from Madisonville High School in 1964 and Larry was a member of New Cypress Missionary Baptist where he was a song leader for many years. He had several jobs over the years, his last few were coal mining and prison guard. He was an Army Reservist from 1968-1974. He was retired and loved spending time with his family and hanging out with friends. Larry loved golf, UK basketball, NY Yankees, St Louis Cardinals, going to breakfast with the boys and spoiling his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Scott, his granddaughter Alivia Scott, and his brother Darrell Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Doris (Sissy) Scott of Greenville, 1 daughter Amy (Matt) Bell of Madisonville, 1 son Jamie (Anna) Scott of Greenville, 1 sister Yvonne (Larry) Rainwater of Madisonville, 3 grandsons Trevis (Makayla) Bell of Evansville, Caleb Scott of Greenville, and Stetson Duncan of Greenville, 2 great grandchildren Colter and Lyla Bell of Evansville, IN., Several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, KY with Rev. Terry Chaney officiating with Rev. Tommy Drury assisting. A burial will follow in New Cypress Cemetery in Greenville.
